Juicing Recipes

There are many juicing recipes to help you with a variety of specific goals that you may have from keeping a healthy heart to losing weight. The benefits of juicing can be found in almost every area of our daily life.

We are going to start with the most popular drink people are making with their juicer and that is the “green drink”.  The green drink seems to attract the majority of the people for two reasons.  The green drink aids in detoxification and it also helps to replace red blood cells, which is a big concern for those going through chemo or have cancer.  We won’t go much more into detail here because they are both lengthy discussions, but here is a recipe that you might like to try:

GREEN JUICE

Juice the following fruits and vegetables:

3 apples
1 cup spinach
1 cup kale
1 medium cucumber
1 cup parsley
1 lemon
2 cups celery
2 tablespoons cinnamon

ENERGY BLAST

Another simple reason a lot of people make their own juice is for more energy.  Once you taste fresh juice from your own juicer you will never want that stuff in the can or cardboard container again.  Plus, fresh juice is much more potent with live vitamins and minerals.  Most of the vitamin and minerals in the prepared juices are a powder form that has been added. For an energy boost try this recipe.

5 carrots
2 apples
1 small cucumber
½ cup parsley
1 teaspoon nutmeg
¼ cup water

WEIGHT LOSS WHEATGRASS

For those that take their weight loss seriously you will want to look into juicing.  The fresh fruits and vegetables in a juice drink will help to curb the appetite while adding nutrients needed when on a diet.  But the most overlooked advantage is that is brings your body into a PH balance.  When most people’s bodies reach a healthy PH balance the fat just naturally drops off.   It counteracts the acidity because most of the drinks are alkalized.    Vegetables, green leafs, and grasses are particularly helpful in doing this. Try this.

1 banana
1 orange
1 tangerine
½ juice of 1 lemon
2 inch round of wheatgrass
½ cup strawberries

BROCCOLI  IMMUNITY

During flu season we need all the help we can get to boost our immunity.  What better way is there than a delicious juice that contains broccoli.  Make sure you use the stalk as well as the florets.  The stalks are actually sweeter and contain just as many nutriments. Here is one to try.

2 apples
3 cups broccoli
3 Romaine leafs
Juice of ½ lime

EYE AND BEAUTY JUICE

We all take our eyesight for granted until there are problems.  We should consider juicing to keep our eyes healthy whether we wear glasses or not.  This recipe is also good for hair, nails, and beautiful skin.  Any of your fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamin A have been scientifically proven to help in this area.  Also, vitamin C and E are helpful as well. Try this one.

3 carrots
2 apples
1 cup kale
1 tablespoon cinnamon

ZipaDeeDooDa Day

Generally, any juicing will help improve your mood.  Because no matter what recipe you use there are detoxification benefits.  This in and of itself will elevate your mood.  But if you are looking for a specific recipe to boost your mood the following one will do that plus boost your immunity.

1 cup soy milk (or regular fat free milk)
1 cup blueberries
½ cup strawberries
½ cup peeled kiwi
1 teaspoon flax oil
1 tablespoon wheat germ

HEART HEALTHY

One of the top reasons people start juicing is to improve their cardiovascular system.  This is whether you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or any other related heart problem.  Berries are the key component in this recipe.  Take this basic recipe and experiment by adding or deleting whatever you thinks taste best.  After all, if you like it you will drink more of it.

1 cup strawberries
1 cup red grapes
½ blueberries

You can add ½ cup ice to make a smoothie or serve over ice.
